How RiverSMP works
RiverSMP Season 1 is a faction-style Minecraft event for streamers, from 6 to 29 November 2026. Four teams each defend a Nexus. As long as your Nexus stands you respawn. Once it falls, your next death is final. Everything happens live on stream.
Teams & Nexus
Every player is on one of four teams: Red, Blue, Green or Yellow. Your team color shows in chat and the tab list. Once you join a team you stay on it.
Each team has one Nexus block in its base. Enemies damage it by hitting it (1 HP per hit) or with explosions like TNT, creepers and end crystals (10 HP). You cannot damage your own Nexus. Its HP shows in a bar when you are nearby and above the block itself.
When your team attacks another team's Nexus, your own Nexus takes 2x damage for 30 minutes. Attacking leaves you open.
When a Nexus hits 0 HP it is destroyed and the whole server is told.
Respawning & elimination
If you die while your Nexus is intact, you respawn at your team spawn.
If you die after your Nexus is destroyed, you are eliminated. You become a spectator and cannot rejoin a team or interact. When every player on a team is eliminated, the team is out.
Territory & influence
Every team has its own territory. Everything else is neutral land with no restrictions. You get a message when you enter enemy territory, and your influence shows on screen while you are there.
You earn 1 influence per minute of playtime, up to 500. Being AFK does not count. Check your balance with /influence.
Hostile actions in enemy territory cost influence: breaking or placing a block costs 1, opening a container 5, using TNT, flint and steel or end crystals 15, and each hit on an enemy Nexus 2. Without enough influence the action is blocked. In your own territory and on neutral land everything is free.
Coins & shop
You earn coins passively for every 10 minutes of playtime. On Villager Wednesday you can earn extra coins by finishing tasks.
You can trade coins with any player, on your own team or on another team.
Season schedule
No PvP. Settle in, build up your base and gather resources.
PvP turns on and you can enter other teams' territory.
A portal opens in every base to another world with 10x the resources. It stays open for 30 minutes. Make it out in time and the loot is yours. If you are still inside when it closes, your inventory is wiped and you respawn at your base.
Players who are online receive tasks they can finish for coins. A villager spawns in every base where you can spend your coins on premium items.
There are multiple dungeons during the day, and they get progressively harder. Each team can send a limited number of players in, and they can only take a few items with them. Fight through mobs, collect the loot and kill the boss to complete a dungeon. If you die in a dungeon, your items disappear and you cannot take part in the next dungeon.
Teams send a few players into the extraction map, which is full of mobs and loot. Extract from the map to survive.
Airdrops fall from the sky with insane loot.
Every player can freely break down enemy territory without it costing influence: opening chests, placing TNT and more.
Server events
Nexus damage is doubled, Nexus regen is off and influence costs are off. A bar shows the HP of all four Nexuses.
The team with the most players on the hill earns extra influence: +2 per player every 30 seconds. Breaking blocks on the hill is free. The team with the most control time wins.
Loot chests spawn in neutral territory. Coordinates are posted in chat and shown on the map. Unopened chests disappear after 5 minutes.
Night is locked, hostile mobs spawn twice as often with extra health and all player damage is up 25%. Influence costs are halved. Kill another player and you take 50% of their influence.
